Landslides

Soil erosion is the movement of slope-forming material in the form of rocks, soil, or a mixture of these materials, moving down or out of the slope. Why can Landslide?
In principle landslides occur when the force driving on slopes greater than the drag force. Style retaining force is generally influenced by the density of rocks and soil. While driving style is influenced by the size of the slope angle, water, load and soil density rocks. Thus in case of avalanche victims is very difficult to escape due to material falling from above, so that the victims are many.
Type-type Landslides:
• Translation avalanche is a mass movement of soil and rock slide in the field of flat-shaped or waves ramps.
• Avalanche rotation is moving its soil and rock mass in the field of concave-shaped sliding
• The movement is the movement of rock blocks that move in the field of flat-shaped slide. This avalanche is called translational block of stone avalanches.
• Stone debris occurs when a number of large rocks or other material to move down to the way in free fall. Generally occur on steep slopes to hanging, especially in coastal areas. Boulders that fall can cause severe damage.
• Soil is the type creep landslides move slowly. Soil types of coarse and fine granules. Type of landslide is almost not recognizable. After a long time creep landslide types can cause telephone poles, trees, or the house slopes downward.
• The type of landslide occurred when the land masses move driven by water. Flow velocity depends on the angle of the slope, volume and water pressure, and type of material. His movements occur along the valley and are able to reach hundreds of meters away. In some places could be up to thousands of meters as in watersheds around the volcano.
Landslides cause factor
When the rain, water will infiltrate into the ground cracked so quickly expands again. At the beginning of the rainy season, high rainfall intensity usually frequent, so that the water content in the soil becomes saturated in a short time. Therefore, landslides are common in relatively barren areas where ground water binding is much less so the soil will be easily carried away by rain water.
Want know how to avoid a landslide?
Do not print the fields and make the pond on the upper slopes near the settlement.
Make terraces (sengkedan) on a steep slope when the building of settlements.
Do not cut down trees in the mountains.
Do not make a house under a cliff.
Do not build a building under a steep cliff.
